Late last year, we made our first delivery of Vanessa Megan products to Dress for Success NSW & ACT, providing skincare for women preparing for interviews, new jobs and fresh starts.

This initial delivery was an important step for us. It represented more than product; it was about care, respect and helping women feel supported during times of change. Simple daily rituals, like cleansing and moisturising, can offer a sense of normality and self-worth when life feels uncertain.

Cristina’s Story: Confidence in Action

The impact of Dress for Success is best seen through the women they support.

Cristina moved to Australia from Brazil six years ago as a single mother, bringing with her over 20 years of experience as a corporate lawyer and executive assistant. Despite her strong background, restarting her career in a new country came with challenges. To support her daughter, she transitioned into early childhood education for five years before feeling ready to return to the corporate world.

Facing a daunting job search in a new professional culture and language, Cristina was referred to Dress for Success by her SkilledMax teacher at TAFE — a turning point she now describes as life-changing.

Her first styling session at the Summer Hill boutique helped her reconnect with her professional identity. Three months later, she returned with exciting news: she had secured a role as a Legal Secretary. Supported by volunteer stylists she fondly calls “rock stars”, Cristina found confidence through outfits that reflected both professionalism and her personality.

“I couldn’t stop smiling. The experience was an enormous confidence boost,” she shared.

As Cristina begins this new chapter, she remains deeply grateful for the care and encouragement she received; a powerful reminder of why this partnership matters.
