Lapis Lazuli Gua Sha Massage Tool

Sale price$49.95

Gua Sha (”gwa-sha”) is a natural alternative therapy invented by the Ancient Chinese, which involves scraping the skin with a massage tool that is designed to stimulate micro-circulation of the soft tissue, which increases blood circulation.

Gua Sha can effectively address a wide variety of skin problems, eliminate toxins, stimulate blood flow and increase lymphatic drainage. Instant results have been observed in erasing fine lines, puffiness and achieving a more radiant complexion. With additional Gua Sha sessions, you will see the reduction of aging signs, such as wrinkles and sagging skin.

Use this Gua Sha tool in conjunction with high performance Vanessa Megan™ products to deliver the ingredients deeper into the dermal layers.

What is Gua Sha?

Gua Sha (”gwa-sha”) is a natural alternative therapy invented by the Ancient Chinese, which involves scraping the skin with a massage tool that is designed to stimulate micro-circulation of the soft tissue, which increases blood circulation. Targeting acupressure points on the face with a Gua Sha tool promotes healthy, radiant skin.

Our Gua Sha is carved from high quality lapis lazuli stone, which is known to encourage creativity, self expression and harmony. Please note that as this is a natural stone, each will be different and unique. Image is a sample only.

Benefits of Gua Sha Massage
  • Firm sagging facial muscles
  • Smooth skin
  • Reduce the appearance of wrinkles
  • Improve dark circles and under eye bags
  • Lighten age spots and other skin discolourations
  • Achieve a rosy, more radiant complexion
  • Help clear up acne
  • Reduce eye stress and puffiness
  • Improve blood circulation
  • Prevent wrinkle formation on forehead and neck
  • Relieve tension and stress
How to Use Gua Sha

All Vanessa Megan™ face creams, oils and serums are suited for use with this Gua Sha tool.

For best results, exfoliate with our Prebiotic + C Powder prior to Gua Sha massage to encourage deeper penetration of your favourite VM product.

Before you begin, make sure you have clean hands and have applied a Vanessa Megan™ face cream, oil or serum. You never want to feel like you are pulling on the skin; there should always be some “slip” to work with your Gua Sha.

Use the diagram to move around your face and neck, following the direction of the arrows 1-25 and slowly gliding Gua Sha over each area three to five times. Spin tool for different areas of the face, as shown.

Apply light pressure around the less fleshy areas (such as forehead and eye area), and increase to medium/firm pressure on the cheeks, jaw line and neck where there are more muscles and tension.

Use the point of the Gua Sha on Acupressure points and press down firmly counting slowly to three, inhaling and exhaling as you do.

Some redness following the massage is expected, as in Chinese medicine, a red flush (or “sha”) is recognised as the healing response of your body. Severity will depend on skin type, but you should not bruise or remain red longer than 20-30 minutes after massaging. In the unlikely event of irritation, discontinue use.

Clean & Care for your Gua Sha

Be sure to rinse your Gua Sha with warm soapy water after every use. Allow to dry completely before storing in a cool, dry place.

You can also keep your Gua Sha in the fridge for an added cooling effect on next use.

Avoid Gua Sha Massage on the Face
  • If you have rosacea
  • 28 days after dermal fillers
  • 14 days after injectables
  • If you are on blood thinners
