Skincare Routine for Aging Skin

As our skin ages the outer layer (the epidermis) thins. The number of pigment containing cells decreases and the skin looks thinner, paler and more translucent.

There are changes in the skin strength and elasticity as collagen and elastin production decrease. Sun exposure can make this occur more quickly. Blood vessels in the dermis become more fragile and can bruise more easily and sebaceous glands produce less oil as you age.

This can make it hard to keep the skin moist, resulting in dryness, itchiness and fine lines. Prolonged exposure to the sun also leaves your skin prone to discolouration and pigmentation.

Aging skin can be supported and protected with the right products to keep it at its best for far longer.
