Shipping Policy | International
These US-specific terms apply to orders shipped to addresses within the United States. They supplement our standard Terms and Conditions. If there is a conflict, these US terms govern for US shipments.
United States De minimis and customs entry
- Many orders under USD $800 may enter the US under “de minimis” rules without formal entry or duties. This is not guaranteed. US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) can require formal entry, assess duties/taxes, or refuse entry at its discretion.
Duties, taxes, and fees
- You are responsible for all import duties, taxes, tariffs, brokerage fees, carrier handling fees, and any other charges assessed upon or after import into the US.
- We do not control these charges and cannot predict their amount.
- If duties or fees are billed to us by a carrier or broker, we may charge or recover those amounts from you.
Customs clearance and inspections
- CBP and other authorities may inspect, detain, or refuse parcels for any reason, including but not limited to compliance reviews, safety checks, sanctions, or forced-labour enforcement.
- We are not responsible for delays, holds, seizures, or refusals by CBP or any government authority.
- We will provide reasonable documentation we hold upon request, but we are not obliged to create new documentation or undertake additional testing or certification beyond our standard procedures.
Product descriptions and documentation
- We provide accurate product descriptions and values for customs purposes to the best of our knowledge. You agree that you will not request or require us to under-declare values or misdescribe products.
- Where required, we may include ingredient lists and safety information. Provision of such information does not alter your responsibility for any import restrictions that may apply to you or your address.
Import restrictions and legality
- You are responsible for ensuring that the products you order can be lawfully imported to your US address and that you comply with all applicable laws, including FDA cosmetic labelling requirements for personal use, state regulations, and carrier restrictions (for example, flammable perfumes).
- Orders containing items restricted by carriers or authorities (including certain alcohol-based perfumes) may be returned, destroyed, or otherwise disposed of by the carrier or CBP. We are not liable for such outcomes.
Delivery times and risk of delay
- Any delivery times shown at checkout are estimates only. International transit, customs processing, and inspections can add significant delays. We are not liable for delays caused by carriers, customs authorities, or events beyond our control.
Lost, detained, or returned shipments
- Risk of loss passes to you when we hand your parcel to Australia Post or another carrier.
- If a parcel is detained or held by customs, you are responsible for communicating with CBP or the carrier and for providing any information CBP requests from the importer/recipient.
- If a parcel is returned to us due to non-payment of duties/fees, refusal by CBP, an incorrect/incomplete address, or your failure to act, we may:
- Refund the product price less shipping, return shipping, and any unrecoverable fees; or
- Reship at your cost, once we receive the parcel back in saleable condition.
- Perishable or hygiene-sensitive products returned or delayed beyond their recommended shelf life may not be eligible for refund.
No duty/tariff reimbursement
- We do not reimburse or credit import duties, taxes, tariffs, or brokerage/handling fees under any circumstances, including returns or refusals by customs.
Aggregation and order value
- CBP may aggregate multiple parcels sent to you on or about the same day and treat them as a single import for duty purposes. You acknowledge this risk and remain responsible for any duties or fees assessed as a result.
Compliance and cooperation
- You agree to provide timely and accurate information requested by the carrier or CBP to facilitate clearance, including confirming identity, address, or product usage.
- You authorise the carrier and customs broker to act as your agent for customs purposes, including making declarations and paying duties/fees on your behalf.
Fraud and misrepresentation
- We will not alter invoices or documentation to reduce duties or evade restrictions. Requests to do so will result in order cancellation.
Force majeure and regulatory changes
- We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including regulatory changes, inspections, trade restrictions, sanctions, or changes to US customs rules (including de minimis thresholds).
Refunds and returns for US orders
- Standard return policies apply only to goods successfully delivered to you. Items refused by customs, destroyed, or abandoned are not eligible for refunds unless required by law.
- If we agree to a goodwill refund for a customs-related issue, it will exclude original shipping, return freight, duties, taxes, and fees.
Contact for customs issues
- If your parcel is delayed or detained, please contact the carrier with your tracking number first. If you need our help supplying documents we hold, contact our customer service team at [insert email] and include your order number and any CBP or carrier reference.
